A meeting regarding the anti-polio campaign was held at the DC Office here on Thursday, chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Rao Atif Raza. In which Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Waqas Aslam Marth, Assistant Commissioners across the district, CEO Health Dr. Asad Ismail, MS Dr. Jawad Elahi, DHO Dr. Kashif Hussain, Representatives from the Department of Health, Education, WHO, and other relevant departments were also present. CEO Health Dr. Asad Ismail and DHO Dr. Kashif Hussian gave a detailed briefing to Deputy Commissioner and other participants regarding the upcoming polio campaign, scheduled from 26 February in the district. Micro plan, training of anti-polio teams, door marking, display of awareness material and other arrangements were discussed in the meeting.

In this regard, comprehensive arrangements are being made throughout the district. Polio teams will administer Polio drops will be administered to more than three lac children of under five years age across the district attock amid tight security cover.
In addition, roaming teams have been formed to go door-to-door to administer polio drops to the children. Foolproof security will be provided to all the teams administering polio drops.
Deputy Commissioner while giving instructions said that the representative officers of the Health Department, WHO, UNICEF should be trained in a good way so that the teams can reach every child in every house according to the micro plan.
He directed the health department officials to monitor all the teams on a daily basis and ensure that there is no area where the polio team has not reached.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against those who are negligent during the polio campaign, with all relevant departments playing their full role.
He said health department teams must ensure to administer polio drops to every child upto five years of age, adding, parents should also cooperate with the teams to make the campaign successful.
