PPC: United Panel sweeps annual election of video journalists forum

PESHAWAR: The United Panel secured a clean sweep in the Video Journalists Forum elections held at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) here on Saturday. Senior journalist Bilal Ahmed was elected President, while Nasir Naeem won the General Secretary position. The election, overseen by a committee chaired by Shahid Ahmed, saw 19 candidates contesting for 10 positions. Bilal Ahmed received 73 votes, defeating his opponent Nasir Ali Shah who secured 22 votes. Arsalan Junaid was elected Vice President with 66 votes, while Nasir Naeem won the General Secretary position with 56 votes. Kashan Arshad was elected Finance Secretary with 69 votes, and Tanveer Iqbal won the Joint Secretary position with 75 votes. Rizwan Sheikh, Shakeel Siddiqui, Farhan Bashir, Asif Qadri, and Fazal Hussain were elected as Executive Council Members. The newly elected President, Bilal Ahmed, thanked the members for their support and vowed to work for the welfare of video journalists.
