Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law, Human Rights and Parliamentary Affairs Aftab Alam on Tuesday underscored the importance of practical training for aspiring lawyers, saying it was essential for success in the legal profession.
He was addressing a certificate distribution ceremony at the Advocate General Office Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for law students who completed a six-month apprenticeship programme.
The minister appreciated the students’ dedication and expressed hope that they would contribute to strengthening the justice system. He said theoretical knowledge alone was insufficient, stressing that hands-on experience remained the hallmark of a successful legal career.
Mr Alam also highlighted the need for young lawyers to stay updated with emerging trends, digital systems and evolving legal frameworks, urging them to uphold integrity, diligence and the rule of law.
He said the provincial government was promoting such initiatives to build the capacity of young lawyers and provide them with better professional opportunities, adding that apprenticeship programmes offered valuable insight into the workings of the legal system.
Also speaking on the occasion, Advocate General Shah Faisal Utman Khel appreciated the students’ performance and expressed confidence in their future contributions to the field of law.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed among the successful participants, who described the training as beneficial for their professional development and thanked the government and the Advocate General Office.
