Rawalpindi: The women played central role in Pakistan Movement and has key role in development of the country in every sector which has been acknowledged by every stakeholder in society.
Prominent Hurriat leader Mishal Malik wife of Yasin Malik expressed these views as chief guest at prize distribution ceremony of posters competition entitled “Present Government initiative towards Women Development” under aegis of Rawalpindi Arts Council to mark International Women Day.
More than 60 male and female students showed their talent using poster colors and white paper sheet.
The competitors highlighted the initiatives by Punjab Government for the betterment of women.
The different themes like Women Ombudsmen, Harassment Laws, Education, Property issues, establishment of inquiry committees and other important matters.
The first prize went to Waqas Ahmed of RAC, second to Namia Saleem of Girls College Dhoke Ratta, third position taken by Roumaisa of Punjab College of Commerce, while fourth also went to Ayesha Rashid of same institution Punjab College of Commerce.
Prominent Hurriat leader Mishal Malik addressing on the occasion said that every women should know her rights and would not compromise on it.
She appreciated the efforts of Punjab Government for empowering women in every field of life. Mishal also remembered Kashmiri women who scarified for right of self determination. She also applauded RAC efforts for raising women’s rights.
Talking about the objectives of the poster competition, Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed said that the key purpose is to recognize, appreciate and raise the women’s rights and their achievements to inspire the generation next.
