ISLAMABAD: A dedicated Press Room was inaugurated at the Supreme Court of Pakistan Friday in the presence of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, and the Judges of the Supreme Court, as part of the Court’s continuing efforts to enhance media access, institutional transparency and public awareness of judicial proceedings and reforms. The Press Room was inaugurated by Imran Waseem, President, Press Association of Supreme Court of Pakistan, and Amanat Raza Gishkori, General Secretary, Press Association of Supreme Court of Pakistan. The facility provides court reporters with a dedicated and conducive workspace within the Supreme Court, enabling timely and effective coverage of judicial proceedings and institutional activities and improved access to court-related information. The initiative complements the Supreme Court’s broader measures to expand access to information, freedom of expression and the press. By strengthening institutional connectivity with the media, it seeks to facilitate accurate and timely dissemination of information and enhance public understanding of the administration of justice.
