Doctors performing ultrasound in Dera Ismail Khan have set arbitrary rates and it has been revealed that private clinics have been collecting self-made rates of ultrasound fees from the poor and needy.
Minimum ultrasound fees from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000 which is not justified at any level. The poor and needy people have requested the Secretary Health, KP, KP Health Minister and Chief Minister KP to announce fixation of the Ultrasound rates accordingly so it be in the reach of poor people.
It is worth mentioning here that such practice continues with the mutual understanding of the clinics, laboratories, and doctors of the private clinics in Dera city.
The rates should be fixed, one Ajmal told APP. Ajmal while narrating his story said that doctors and their staff push patients out of clinics and laboratories who are helpless or do not pay their fees in full.
They are victims of this oppression but the lack of action against the doctors who are illegally charging exorbitant fees from the people has become a question mark. Citizens have demanded the Deputy Commissioner Dera to take action and should stop such practice going on against poor and helpless patients.
They also demanded action against such private clinics, doctors and laboratories charging illegal fees and appealed to the government to fix reasonable fees so that the citizens can get their treatment without facing any hardship.
