PESHAWAR: The activists of Insaf Students Federation (ISF) district Peshawar chapter on Sunday strongly reacted the unlawful arrest and torture of ISF workers in Islamabad.
In this connection, a protest demonstration against the illicit torture and alleged arrest of PTI youth was held outside the Peshawar Press Club at Sher Shah Suri road opposite Cantonment Railway Station.
They demanded of the government to release their detained colleagues forthwith otherwise they will show resistance in this regard. They pledged they would participate in the PTI 02 November sit-in (dharna) in tens of thousands in Pakistan?s capital.
Holding placards inscribed with different slogans regarding the earliest release of the ISF members, they shouted against the federal government.
However, the protest was led by Ashfaq Marwat, president ISF Peshawar, Masood Afridi and Imran Khan Tsunami. Talking to reporters they blamed that last Friday night the police personnel had tortured and arrested a team of PTI activists from Peshawar and ISF members who were going to participate in the PTI sit-in.
The detained persons, they said including Meena Khan Afridi, Shahid Khattak, Iqbal Dawar, Shafqar Ayaz and others. They said that they condemned the police attitude with the ISF activists and detention of their colleagues, adding that such kind of tactics by the central government could not weak their inspiration.
They maintained that the imprisonments of students were against the democratic system and it is atrocity of with the students.
The ISF members said that they had full preparation for November02 PTI sit-in and would support the PTI chairman Imran Khan in eliminating malpractices in the country.
