Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Sultan Muhammad Khan from district Charsadda left the party and announced his joining the Awami National Party (ANP) on Wednesday after a meeting with the party provincial president Aimal Wali Khan.
According to a statement issued from ANP’s Bacha Khan Markaz, MPA Sultan Khan will announce his formal defection to ANP on September, 10.
Earlier, Aimal Wali Khan and other senior leaders of the ANP visited the residence of Sultan Khan and formally invited him to join ANP.
Speaking on the occasion, ANP provincial president said that PTI was nothing more than mere slogans, adding that more PTI leaders and MPAs were expected to join ANP in coming days.
It is pertinent to mention here that ANP provincial president Aimal Wali had contested its first election against the PTI candidate Sultan Khan in 2018 general elections.
The former had secured 22,038 votes while the PTI candidate Sultan Khan had won the seat, PK-58 Charsadda constituency, by getting 28,891 votes.
