Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram has firmly stated that the date for the planned nationwide protest on November 24 will not be changed under any circumstances.
The November 24 protest call was issued directly by party founding chairman Imran Khan, urging workers across the country to mobilize in support, he stated.
Speaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club alongside Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi and PTI leaders Rizwan Bangash and Imran Kathana, Akram said, “The worker who voted for PTI in the name of Imran Khan will respond to his call.”
He emphasized the participation of Punjab’s farmers, criticizing the current economic policies as oppressive, particularly under the IMF’s influence.
“Farmers are burdened with taxes and unfair systems. The farmers of Punjab will join the sit-in to voice their grievances,” he added.
Highlighting PTI’s widespread support, Akram said, “With 70 MNA seats won, Punjab’s workers cannot be underestimated.
From Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab, PTI supporters will unite for this protest.”
He ruled out any changes to the date of the protest, stating, “Unless Imran Khan himself decides otherwise, the November 24 sit-in will go ahead as planned.
PTI will not negotiate unless approached by an authority with meaningful influence.”
The leadership is actively working to ensure the event’s success, with plans to gather supporters nationwide for a demonstration in Islamabad.
Akram concluded, “Khan’s workers and supporters from across Pakistan will participate in the sit-in, demonstrating unity and resolve.”
