LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Public transport fares have been scaled down by 25 percent in Punjab following reduction in prices of petroleum products by Rs 135. According to sources public transporters have decreased the fares on their own. Transport department Punjab has not issued formal notification on reduction in fares. However transporters announced to reduce fares on their own to provide relief to people following the decrease in prices of diesel. On the other hand Goods Transport Association has reduced the fares by 40 percent. Mini Mazda Goods Transport Association has scaled down fares by 25 percent. As per sources the fares have been reduced from Saturday. Transporter department has called meeting of transporters today with reference to further reduction in fares. APP
