Punjab govt acquires airlift drone for flood affectees

LAHORE: Punjab government has acquired air lift drone for flood affectees. The modern drone has capacity to lift a man having upto 200 kilogram weight and shift him to safe place. Home secretary Punjab has directed to send state of the art airlift drone to Multan to rescue the persons bogged in flood water. As per media reports Civil defence has completed test flights of drone in Lahore before sending it to South Punjab. Home secretary has said decision has been taken to purchase more 10 airlift drones for civil defence. This is first of its kind emergency airlift drone service in Pakistan. Home department Punjab is raising Punjab Civil Defence Resilience Corps on modern lines. Home secretary said people can be airlifted to secure places from inaccessible and dangerous areas through drone service. Registration process of citizens as volunteers in civil defence Resilience Corps is continuing.
