LAHORE: Punjab government has sought more time from Election Commission (EC) for Local Bodies (LB) polls in the province. As per media reports meeting of EC in connection with LB polls in Punjab was held under Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja. During the meeting, Punjab government declared the 4 weeks time is insufficient. According to EC sources Punjab government has sought time for more two and half months for delimitation rules. Punjab government has sought time till January 2026 for delimitation. As per sources Chief secretary Punjab and secretary local bodies are of the opinion Punjab is larger province and delimitation rules cannot be framed within four weeks. Online
