Appeal plea against de-seating
ISLAMABAD
Qasim Suri despite being summoned by Supreme Court (SC) once again did not appear during hearing of his appeal plea against de-seating him.
The SC ordered to issue advertisement in respect of summoning.
The call up notice be pasted outside his home as well.
The court remarked as per record Bilal, brother of Qasim Suri refused to receive the notice. Qasim Suri is not appearing in the court deliberately. Avoidance by former deputy speaker from receiving notice is unfortunate.
The court gave these remarks on Friday.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa took up the case for hearing.
The CJP while addressing Naeem Bokhari, counsel for Qasim Suri said “ your client is very active in media and social media.
Naeem Bokhar replied I don’t know. I don’t even watch movie.
The CJP while expressing wonder remarked you are TV personality and you don’t watch TV. Are you aware of X or twitter.
Naeem Bokhari said he neither uses social media nor does he know how to use it.
The CJP remarked why are considering yourself so old. Be young and uptodate.
Naeem Bokhari said now I have become old.
Justice Irfan remarked you had said in a TV program my friends don’t allow me to become old.
Naeem Bokhari said I have not in any contact with Qasim Soori.
The CJP remarked we will fix next hearing in July. Next date will be fixed in court’s orders.
The court later adjourned the hearing of the case.
