Qazi Fazlullah appoint as chairman of interim council

Tribal Union of Journalists (TUJ) was restored after 10 years and Qazi Fazlullah was appointed as chairman of the interim council.
In this connection an extra-ordinary meeting of tribal journalists was held in Peshawar on Sunday that was attended by media persons from districts Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Aurakzai, Dara Adam Khel, Kurrum North Waziristan etc.
It was unanimously decided that restitution of TUJ was need of time and inevitable to protect rights of the tribal journalists.
Initially, an 18 members interim council under the chair of Qazi Fazlullah was formulated that would be responsible to make a constitution for the organization, conduct membership procedure and to ensure election within six months.
Addressing on the occasion chairman of the council Qazi Fazalullah said that more than 300 journalists from tribal regions negated their basic rights although they executed their journalistic duties in unfavorable conditions.
In the last one and half decade 15 tribal journalists laid down their lives and numbers of them sustained injuries in the line of duty but they were still ignored, which was regretful, he remarked.
He urged the authorities concerned to ensure provision of all facilities to the media persons of the merged being enjoyed by the journalist community in other parts of the country.
Tribal journalists from Bajaur to Waziristan expressed their delight over the restoration of TUJ and said like previously the body would safeguard all their legal rights.
