PESHAWAR: Muhammad Yaqub, a PhD scholar in the Department of Management Sciences at Qurtuba University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar Campus, was awarded a doctorate after successfully defending his research thesis at a public defence. The thesis, titled “The Impact of Workplace Spirituality on Organizational Silence: A Moderated-Mediating Role of Psychological Safety and Locus of Control,” examined the relationship between workplace spirituality and organisational silence, with particular focus on psychological safety and locus of control. Associate Professor Dr Fahad Khan Afridi of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Qurtuba University, supervised the research, while Dr Aftab Haider, Associate Professor at Bahria University Islamabad, served as the external examiner. The defence was attended by Assistant Professor Dr Kashif Amin of the University of Hazara, Dr Saeed-ur-Rehman, Deputy Controller Examinations at Sarhad University Peshawar, PhD scholar Ghulam Farooq and other faculty members and scholars. During the defence, Mr Yaqub presented his research findings and methodology and responded to questions from the examiners and participants. The examiners appreciated the relevance of the research topic and the methodology adopted by the scholar. Assistant Controller of Examinations at Qurtuba University, Saifullah, appreciated Mr Yaqub’s efforts and emphasised the importance of scholars participating in academic activities and engaging in constructive discussion during public defences.
