Kohat
A major clean drinking water project in the Barh area of Kohat is progressing rapidly with funding from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan and Member of the National Assembly Shehryar Afridi.
The project aims to provide safe and clean drinking water to the residents who have long faced severe shortages, addressing a critical public health issue in the region. Once completed, the scheme is expected to ensure access to clean water for households across the area, reducing waterborne diseases and easing the daily burden on women and children responsible for water collection.
Officials said the initiative reflects broader efforts to improve essential public services and strengthen community welfare through sustainable infrastructure.
In addition to the water supply project, Shafi Jan’s development team inspected planned infrastructure schemes in Union Councils Nusrat Khel, Sher Kot and Ustarzai, where PCC roads and funeral ground projects are set to begin soon.
Local residents welcomed the expanding development agenda, describing it as a practical demonstration of responsive leadership focused on improving living standards and strengthening basic civic facilities across the constituency.
