Development and rehab of the merged areas is top priority of Prime Minister Imran Khan as the sacrifices rendered by the brave tribesmen for the defense of their motherland was a golden chapter of the history of the country.
This was stated by Food Minister Qalandar Lodhi while addressing inaugural ceremony of the launching of tunnel farming arranged by the SRSP and World Food Program here on Thursday.
The agri production in the Aurakzai district could be increased by adopting modern farming; he said adding the SRSP and WFP have to be praised for making the people of the district as stakeholder in the whole process.
The minister maintained that agri production could be increased manifold by following modern agri technology and tunnel farming. The tribal people’s sacrifices for the cause of the country during last seventy years, he said had no precedence in the entire history. They fought shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces.
He told the audience that funds would not be a problem for executing development programs in the merged districts. He said that billions of rupees have been allocated for its development by the present government as Imran Khan has a vibrant and coordinated plan for the uplift of tribal districts.
The food minister on this occasion formally inaugurated tunnel farming and solar projects at Andakhel and Bulandkhel areas.
Assistant Commissioner Haider Hussain, DFO Salahuddin, AC Shahid Ali and DPO Salahuddin Kundi, tribal elders were present on the occasion.
