Relief goods hand over to Afghan officials at Torkham Border

KHYBER: Loaded in 35 trucks, relief package, announced by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for the support of Afghanistan (Kunar) earthquake affectees were handed over to Afghan officials at Pak-Afghan sharing border, Torkham on Wednesday. Assistant Commissioner, Landi Kotal Afraseyab Zubair, Director Relief Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and other forces officials on behalf of the Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur gave away the relief package to the Afghan government representative Aimal Muhammadi at the Torkham crossing. The relief package included 500 hundred large tents,500 family size tents,1000 plastic sheets,1500 mattresses,3000 pillows,1500 quilts,500 blankets and two loaded trucks necessary medicines. The Afghan official thanked the provincial government for the generous assistance in the time of need. It is to be stated here that last night earthquake hit the eastern districts of Afghanistan that left more than 800 killed and 1550 injured. Our Correspondent
