Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Aqib Ullah Khan on Monday visited Nowshera district to review emergency preparedness and relief measures, expressing satisfaction over the arrangements made to deal with disasters.
During the visit, the minister inspected sub-offices and operational centres of the Relief Department and was briefed on their targets, preparedness, relief measures and day-to-day operations.
MNA Zulfiqar Khan, Director General Rescue 1122, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief), Director Relief, Civil Defence Officer and other officials were present on the occasion.
Speaking to the media, Aqib Ullah Khan said the provincial government was utilizing all available resources to protect the lives and property of citizens and ensure the prompt provision of relief during emergencies and natural disasters.
He said all relevant departments had been directed to remain on high alert to respond effectively to any emergency situation.
The minister also instructed officials to perform their duties with dedication, honesty and commitment, emphasizing that public service and timely relief should remain their top priority.
He further stressed the need for an efficient and rapid communication system to improve coordination among departments and enhance public awareness during emergencies.
