Returning the embezzled money by the accused tantamount to accept the offence: SC

ISLAMABAD : Supreme Court (SC) has rejected the review petition filed against the sacking of one Shah Jahan , postman of Dak department Balochistan on the charges of corruption.

The court has upheld the service tribunal decision about the dismissal of the post man from service.

A two members bench of SC presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) took up the review appeal plea for hearing Wednesday.

CJP remarked during the hearing of the case the returning the money by the accused which he had embezzled is tantamount to accepting the offence.

The counsel for the petitioner Shah Jahan took the plea mother of his client had to face some medical emergency and his client spent the department money on the emergency of his mother. Later his client had returned the money. The service tribunal had ordered for forced retirement of his client

Justice Muzahir Ali Akbar Naqvi remarked the accused did not present any document related to his mother emergency to the inquiry committee.

The court rejected the review petition filed against the decision of sacking the post department Balochistan employee Shah Jahan.
