Pre-conference workshops for the 26th International Conference of Health Research (ICHR-26) commenced at Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) on Monday, marking the start of a major academic gathering focused on healthcare innovation and research development.
The workshops, a key component ahead of the main conference, aim to equip participants with practical skills, contemporary research knowledge, and exposure to emerging trends in health sciences.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior academic and administrative figures, including RMI Chief Executive Officer Shafique ur Rehman, Director Research and ICHR-26 Chairman Dr Naseer Ahmed, Principal Rehman College of Dentistry Prof Ghulam Rasool, and principals of various RMI colleges.
Prof Dr Naila Irum Hadi formally inaugurated the workshops by cutting the ribbon.
Speakers on the occasion underscored the importance of research-driven education, evidence-based medical practice, and modern scientific approaches in strengthening healthcare systems and improving patient outcomes. They noted that such initiatives play a critical role in fostering a robust research culture among students, faculty, and healthcare professionals.
The workshops feature expert-led sessions on a range of contemporary topics, including artificial intelligence, data science, academic writing, modern research methodologies, and healthcare research, offering participants hands-on exposure to tools shaping modern medical inquiry.
According to organisers, ICHR-26 includes more than 30 pre-conference workshops and has attracted over 2,000 participants. The conference has drawn researchers from across Pakistan as well as from countries including Russia, Spain, Italy, Qatar, Australia, and China.
The pre-conference workshops will continue until April 16, while the main conference proceedings are scheduled from April 17 to 19.
Organisers said ICHR-26 provides a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the advancement of evidence-based healthcare, reflecting RMI’s commitment to research, education, and innovation.
