Sharqi Police on Wednesday arrested three members of a robbers’ gang and recovered looted cash and valuables, said a handout.
The members of the gang were involved in looting citizen at gun point.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ghulam Muhammad, Rehmanullah and Shan alias Sheeny residents of Dir Colony, Shaheen Muslim Town and Navi-Kali Bara Road Peshawar.
A police team headed by SP Cantt Division Waqas Rafiq along with SHO Sharqi Police Station Naeem Haider and DSP Riaz Khalil busted the gang in an important operation.
Police claimed that the members of the gang were allegedly involved in robbing a hefty amount from a Muhammad Asim at gunpoint on April 12.
The police team conducted investigation in the light of CCTV footage and other important evidence and finally busted the gang.
Police during the operation recovered Rs5.8 million cash, weapons used for criminal activities and a motorcycle from the possession of arrested persons.
The accused have confessed their crimes during preliminary investigation, said police.
