Mardan region police have busted nine-member dacoit’s gang involved in dacoits and besides recovering 5 million rupees, gold ornaments and weapons from their possession, a senior police officer said.
Addressing to a joint news conference at district police office (DPO) office, district police officer (DPO) Mardan Haroon-ur-Rashid and DPO Swabi Najmul Hasnsain Liaquat said taking notice of dacoits incident in the limits of different police station of Mardan and Swabi regional police officer (RPO) Mardan range, Mohammad Ali Khan in the supervision of DPO Mardan and Swabi constitute a special team to investigate and trance the dacoits incidents.
The officials said that in this connection the DPOs of Mardan and Swabi directed the circle DSP and SHOs to trace the accused involved in the dacoit’s incidents.
They added that the police team utilizing all the modern means and arrested six members of a nine member’s dacoits group identified as Khurshid his wife Bilqies, Idress resident of Gadar Sawldher, Bilal and Bashir residents of Babini and Kalil-ur-Rehman resident of Toru.
They added that police recovered 5 million rupees of stolen money, 32 tola of stolen gold ornaments, 04 kalashnikov rifles, 04 pistols, 1 rifle, 1 LCD, Honda 125 motorbike and 2 motor cars.
They added that further investigation is underway. They added that RPO Mardan range Mohammad Ali Khan has appreciated this overall performance and directed for further effective policing measures in the region.
