Rupee loses more ground against dollar, falls to Rs287.91

KARACHI: Pakistani rupee continued to lose ground against the US dollar for the second consecutive day and fell to Rs287.91 in the interbank market on Tuesday. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said in a tweet that the rupee opened at 287.43 against the dollar in the interbank market and closed at 287.91, showing a depreciation of 48 paisas (-0.17 percent). During the last two sessions, the rupee weakened by Rs0.84 against the US dollar. On the other hand, the local unit depreciated against the greenback in the open market by Rs2 (-0.68 percent). The rupee was quoted in the range of 294-297 against the dollar in the open market as compared to 292-295 a session earlier. In the black market/Hundi, the dollar remained at Rs308. TLTP
