WASHINGTON
American newspaper Wall Street Journal has claimed that the Russian Wagner Group is going to supply air defense systems to the Iranian-backed organization Hezbollah. According to a report published in the Wall Street Journal, the system in question is the SA-22, which uses anti-aircraft missiles and air defense missiles to intercept aircraft.
The above-mentioned development came at a time when tensions on Israel’s borders with Lebanon began to rise. According to a US official, the US has not yet confirmed the deployment of the defense system, but is monitoring the discussions regarding Wagner and Hezbollah.
The potential deployment of air defense systems is a major concern.
