Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson, Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, has strongly criticized the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) led federal government, accusing it of disqualifying eligible PTI candidates through “fake cases.”
In an official’s statement issued here on Wednesday, he claimed that the real reason behind the disqualification of these candidates is their election using Form 45, which, according to him, the government was trying to undo in a bid to install its own candidates through Form 47.
“The incompetence of the current government is evident as they attempt to disqualify PTI candidates in a clear attempt to manipulate the electoral process,” Barrister Saif stated.
He further condemned the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), alleging that it had ceased to be an impartial state institution and was now functioning as the “B-team” of the government.
Dr. Saif also accused the government of feeling threatened by the upcoming PTI protest scheduled for August 5, adding that the government’s actions are driven by fear of the massive public response.
“The fake government is trying to suppress PTI’s efforts, but these high-handed tactics will not succeed,” he said, claiming that the protest would become the “last nail in the political coffin” of the current regime.
The KP government spokesperson went on to assert that the days of the “fake government” were numbered, and it will no longer be able to prevent the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. He further claimed that the people of KP and the wider public are eager for Imran Khan’s release and true freedom, and that the current rulers are increasingly fearful of this popular movement.
Dr. Saif reaffirmed PTI’s commitment to continuing its protests, despite the government’s attempts to stifle the movement.
