Pakhtunkhwa Women’s Badminton Championship

Sapna of Mardan, Faryal of Peshawar, Khkukla, Tanu Zaman and Sanam Shehzadi of Mardan reached to the final of Pakhtunkhwa Women’s Badminton Championship, being organized by District Sports Office Mansehra in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association and district administration.
Commissioner Hazara, Syed Zaheerul Islam, was the chief guest on this occasion. Deputy Commissioner Mansehra Khalid Iqbal Khattak, District Sports Officer Hilal Shah, Provincial Badminton Association Secretary Amjad Khan, Organizing Secretary Bushra were also present. According to the results, in the singles semi-finals Sapna of Mardan defeated Halimah of Abbot Abad by 22-20, 19-21 and 21-10, Faryal of Peshawar defeated Sanam Shahzad of Mardan by 21-7, 21-17, doubles.
In the semi-finals, Faryal and Khakla of Peshawar defeated Laiba and Halima of Abbot Abad, Anbar and Tanu Zaman of Peshawar defeated Sanam and Sapna of Mardan. 21-17 and 21-12 won the honor of playing the final. Commissioner Hazara while addressing the players said that the players are the capital of the nation, Arshad Nadeem made the name of the country and the nation shine at the global level.
He said that athletes are ambassadors of the country who represent their country in the world. He encouraged all the players.
