PESHAWAR: Supreme Court (SC) Peshawar Registry while expressing annoyance over Mall Mukadma vehicles under police use has sought details of vehicles. The case regarding mall mukadma vehicles under police use came up for hearing before SC Peshawar registry. The case was heard by SC bench comprising Justice Shakil Ahmad, Justice Musarrat Hilali and justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim. The concerned authorities including Advocate General (AG) KP appeared in the court. The court during previous hearing had sought details of the vehicles which are under use of police. Justice Musarrat Hilali inquired from AG this list is of what type of vehicles. Are these the vehicles which are standing in ware house or are they under use. AG told the court 1119 vehicles are standing in the ware house. Justice Musarrat Hilali said , leave it. Give the details of the vehicles which are under use of police officers. Some run government vehicles after their retirement too. They roam in vehicles with tinted glasses. The court while expressing resentment said AG does not know even how many vehicles are being used now. Justice Hilali remarked all is being done under your nose and you are ignorant of it. It is very strange. Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim remarked these vehicles are put to auction. But these have been distributed. ONLINE
The present SHO is responsible for it that vehicles are where and they are held by whom.
AG said SHO is very weak person. He complies with when senior officer orders him.
Justice Musarrat Hilali remarked SHO is not as much weak as you say. SHO is not bound to comply with illegal orders of his senior officers.
AG took the plea it will be difficult to collect the data after seeking complete report from 34 police stations.
The court directed complete details of the vehicles available in police stations across the province be presented before it till the next hearing of case in July.
Justice Musarrat Hilali remarked law of blind will not run now. SHO is called Khan Jee. Now we see what is Khan Jee. Police has become symbol of fear instead of providing protection to the people which is regrettable.
