SC larger bench to hear suo motu case today

ISLAMABAD
Supreme Court larger bench will hear suo motu case on holding general election on Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhaw Monday.
Verdict will be issued on the fate of constituting full court bench. 9-members larger bench led by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial will hear the case at 11:30am. Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, and Justice Athar Minallah are the part of larger bench.
In the start of hearing, bench will hear the objections on two Judges (Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan & Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi). Court will issue verdict to constitute full court bench or not.
JUI counsel Kamran Murtaza, PPP advocates Farooq H.Naik, Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Farhatullah Babar, Pmln Lawyer Mansoor Awan, Governor Punjab advocate Mustafa Ramday, Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar, President Supreme Court Bar Abid Zubairi, Attorney General Shehzad Ata Elahi, Additional attorney general Amir Rahman, and PTI leader Amir Mehmood Kiyani will appear before the court.
Keep clear that government allies’ three major political parties (PPP, JUI, Pmln) filed a separate application and pleaded the court to constitute full court bench. They also requested to court to not included two judges (Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan and Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi) of present bench.
During previous hearing PPP counsel read the joint statement of government allies political parties.
Joint statement said they have objection on two judges of bench naming Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan and Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi. Both judges should recuse themselves from the bench.
