ISLAMABAD, March 08 (Online); Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed the bail after arrest plea of accused Aurangzeb who has been arrested in cheque fraud case of Rs 45 million.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Manzoor Malik took up for hearing bail after arrest plea in respect of accused Aurangzeb Monday.

The counsel for the accused argued during the hearing of the case that his client was in jail since the last six months. He is facing the charges of Rs 45 million fraud.

Advocate General (AG) Islamabad told the court during the hearing of the case that the accused is in jail since November 18, 2020. There is another fraud case of Rs 10 million against the accused and in that case his bail plea has been rejected.

Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik while addressing the counsel for the accused remarked you are giving wrong statement before the judge. Your client has spent about three and half months in jail. The counsel should support his client but he should not deceive the court. When the accused Aurangzeb is not granted bail in the Rs 10 million fraud case then how can we grant him bail in the fraud case of Rs 45 million. The case against the accused is pending hearing in trial court. When it is decided then come to the court on fresh grounds.
