‘can not issue any such order
ISLAMABAD
Supreme Court (SC) has rejected the plea for immediate meeting with Imran Khan. A two members bench of SC presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi took up the case for hearing. The court issued notice for tomorrow on the petition filed by PTI leader Latif Khosa for meeting with Imran Khan. CJP while moving to Latif Khosa said we cannot issue any such order without notice. Still the hindrance related to maintainability of the petition has to be removed. Keep it in mind your cases are pending hearing in other courts as well.
To our view this case has become in- fructuous.
It was August 24., 2023 order against which the case had come.
CJP remarked we can give no order regarding meeting without issuing notice. This will have to be seen if the case has become in -fructuous or can be run still
Counsel Latif Khosa took the plea he should be allowed to meet his client.
The CJP remarked we will decide tomorrow about the meeting as well. However no decision can be given without issuing notice to other respondent.
Later the court adjourned the hearing of the case till tomorrow.
