Clubbing May 9 related FIRs
ISLAMABAD
Supreme Court (SC) has returned to Lahore High Court (LHC) the matter of clubbing FIRs related to May 9 incident against former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry.
A two members bench of SC comprising Justice Hashim Kakar and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi heard the case Tuesday.
The court sent back the matter of clubbing May 9 incident related FIRs against Fawad Chaudhry to LHC . The SC nullified LHC decision. Justice Hashim Kakar remarked LHC did not mention the reasons for rejecting the writ of the petitioner. We are sending this matter again to LHC.
Justice Baqar Najafi remarked the court should give the reasons for rejecting the writ. High Court should again hear the case and pass the speaking order.
Justice Hashim Kakar remarked there should be difference between court’s order and royal decree. Court’s decision comprises reasons always. 500 cases can not be registered of one incident.
Fawad Chaudhry told the court that the Supreme Court had earlier ordered decisions on May 9-related cases within four months, but the ongoing trials had become a torment.
Justice Kakar responded, “We are relieving you from that torment.”
LHC will now again hear Fawad Chaudhry petition with complete reasons and announce decision.
