ISLAMABAD
Supreme Court (SC) has sought report from KP government about closure of 3 crushing plants in Sooraj Galli Khan Pur and other stone crushing plants in stone crushing case pertaining to KP.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah took up the case for hearing Thursday.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah inquired are the crushing plants included in the case are meeting the criterion.
Additional Advocate General (AAG) Kausar Ali Shah told the court there is no existence of 50 homes near crushing plants. Stone crushers located close to population have already been closed. SC should not issue general order for closing the crushing plants. The general order will make enormous difference in terms of investment.
Aitzaz Ahsan counsel for stone crushers said the locals generate pollution intentionally. Rs 150 million were spent on modern machinery to decrease the pollution few days back.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarked Rs 150 million were spent on which machinery. Tell the name and function of machinery from paper book. stone crushers should file petition soon after coming upto the standard.
Imran Hassan counsel for locals said law was also challenged in the court. The central case be kept pending.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.
