Five of a family burnt alive as vehicle catches fire on Hazara Motorway

As many as seven persons including a woman were killed in two different road accidents in Talash area Dir Lower and on main Hazara Motorway near Jahri, Haripur.
According to details given by the Police, two persons killed in road accident near Talash Banda Gayi when a speeded Oil Tanker collided with an electric pole and exploded with a big bang, burnt two persons, not identified, to death.
The Oil Tanker full of oil met with an accident at Talash Banda Gayi, hit an electric pole due to speedy driving and exploded. The tanker caught fire and two persons were burnt in the accident and died on the spot. Three vehicles of Rescue 1122 Dir Lower’s firefighter reached the spot and continuously tried to control the fire for about one hour and thirty minutes.
A fire also broke out in two shops and Madrasa Farooqia near the road, which was also brought under control by the fire fighter team of Rescue 1122 Dir Lower. The electricity line was also damaged. In this regard, efforts are being made by the Talaash Police to find out the identity and number of the vehicle of the two unknown persons who were burnt to death.
In another road accident, five people of the same family were burnt alive after the vehicle they were travelling in caught fire on Hazara Motorway in Haripur. According to Rescue 1122, the fire broke out in the vehicle near Jhari Kas Interchange in which five persons belonging to Bannu were burnt alive.
On information, a Rescue 1122 team reached the spot and shifted the bodies to a trauma centre. Two killed as oil tanker bursts into flames in Lower Dir Two people were killed when an oil tanker caught fire in Talash Bangi area of Lower Dir after hitting an electricity pole.
Rescue 1122 personnel said that soon after learning about the incident, the control room dispatched three fire brigade vehicles and two ambulances to the site of the incident. They further said that a medical team had shifted both the bodies to Timergara Hospital in an ambulance.
The personnel informed that the firefighters used foam to completely douse the flames after battling them for one and a half hours. Besides that, they disclosed, that a seminary and two shops near the road had also caught fire, which was also put out.
