The federal government’s admission that former prime minister Imran Khan was secretly shifted to a hospital has sparked sharp reaction, with the KP government’s adviser for information, Shafee Jan, terming it a “criminal negligence” and demanding access to Khan’s personal doctor.
In a statement, Mr Jan said the federal government’s move was a clear violation of Khan’s human rights and a disregard for court orders. He warned that if the government did not allow Khan’s personal doctor to meet him, the PTI would take strict action.
The adviser criticised the government for its “obsession” with political vendetta, saying it was ignoring the welfare of the people. He said Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and other PTI leaders would stage a protest outside Adiala Jail until Khan’s doctor was allowed to meet him.
