ISLAMABAD
PTI has filed contempt of court plea in Supreme Court (SC) on the matter of shifting PTI founder to hospital.
Through the petition SC has been requested to initiate proceedings against the respondents for allegedly violating August 18, 2026 court’s orders.
Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif, Information minister Atta Tarar, law minister Azam Nazir Tarar, interior secretary and chief commissioner Islamabad have been made respondents in the petition.
IG Jail Punjab and Superintendent Adiala jail too have been included in respondents.
The petition has been filed by Uzair Bhindari and Suleman Akram Raja.
The petitioners have requested the court that show cause notices be issued to respondents and they be ordered to appear in person.
It was requested to court too that the respondents be declared as involved in contempt of court and punishment be awarded to them as per law.
The court has been prayed for transferring PTI founder to Alshifa International hospital Islamabad forthwith and conducting his medical check up therein.
The court has also been requested to appoint one judicial officer or constitute local commission to ensure implementation of court’s orders.
