Shower turns weather pleasant in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Like other parts of the country the shower of the winter turned the weather cold and pleasant in Peshawar and its adjoining areas on Monday evening.
The rain brought problems for traffic. At some locations light traffic jam was noticed for short period.
The people took benefit of the rainy weather and rushed to fast food items outlets.
The Provincial Met Office forecasted cold and partly cloudy weather for most parts of the region. However rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in D I Khan, Tank, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Sawabi, Malakand, Swat, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Shangla, Chitral, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Manshera, Battagram, Torghar, Hari Pur districts and FATA (Kurram, Khyber, Mohmand, Orakzai, Bajaur North and South Waziristan Agencies) for next 24 hours.
The Met Office also predicted cold and partly cloudy weather for most parts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.
However rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in D I Khan, Tank, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Sawabi, Malakand, Swat, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Shangla, Chitral, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Manshera, Battagram, Torghar, Hari Pur districts and FATA (Kurram, Khyber, Mohmand, Orakzai, Bajaur North and South Waziristan Agencies) for next 48 hours.
According to Met Office an active westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Wednesday.
Minimum temperatures recorded in different parts of the country were as under: Skardu -12C, Kalam, Gupis -10C, Kalat, Astore -07C, Malamjabba -06C, Bagrote, Parachinar -05C, Hunza -04C, Gilgit, Dir, Drosh, Murree -03C, Chitral, Kakul -02C, Quetta, Chillas -01?C.
