PESHAWAR: The long dry spell has turned River Panjkora into a stream endangering the life of fish species, said Fisheries Department, Dir Lower on Monday. The Fisheries Department said due to lack of rains in the last three month the water level in River Panjkora has dropped to its minimum level and the mighty river has been converted into a stream. The 100 kilometers area of River Panjora from Khal to Bosaq in Malakand, is home to around 20 kinds of fish species. Due to lack of water in the river, easy hunting of these fish species on high scale was endangering the existence of these fish and needed urgent measures to save the fish of River Panjkora from extinction.
