Provincial Minister for social welfare department, Qasim Ali Shah visited Hamza Foundation Welfare Thalassemia Hospital Peshawar here on Wednesday to celebrate “World Day for Hemophilia” with the Hemophilia affected children and expressed his commitment to continue his support for helping the poor and needy children suffering from different blood diseases.
Minister also vowed to play his due role for release of grant in aid by the provincial government and other funds from the Zakaat & Ushr Department KP to support the organization for serving ailing segment of the society.
In this regard an awareness session was also held participated by founder of the Hamza Foundation, Ijaz Ali Khan, CEO Eng. Hamza, Dr. Tariq Khan and individuals from different walks of lives including patients and their parents.
During the visit, the minister also inspected the facilities being imparted to more than 1500 Thalassemia and Hemophilia patients at the foundation.
Speaking on this occasion, Ijaz Ali Khan thanked the minister for extending his support and visiting the institution.
He said that the day is observed on April 17, raises awareness about hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders. It highlights the need for improved diagnosis, treatment, and care, especially in underserved communities.
Hamza Foundation is providing all health facilities to the patients through state of the art machinery and blood transfusion is ensured after proper screening.
Minister for Welfare Qasim Ali Shah highly appreciated the services of Hamza Foundation and said that he is aware of how the institution is treating poor and needy patients with limited resources and they are facing shortage of blood bags and facing other challenges as well.
He said that he will take steps to ensure the provision of donation from the health funds, so as free blood bags and chemicals may be ensured to the institution, and Hamza Foundation may continue to serve the suffering humanity in the same way.
Qasim Ali Shah further said that other parliamentarians, civil society representatives and individuals from different walks of lives should also visit the Hamza Foundation and cooperate with them.
