Pakistan Institute of Prosthetic and Orthotics(PIPSO) provided articlfical limbs to 16 disabled persons in Landikotal on Monday.
A ceremony was arranged at District Headquarters Hospital in Landikotal which was attended by doctors, paramedical staff,elders and family members for special persons.
Assistant commissioner of Landikotal Irshad Ali Mohmand was special guest.
Speaking on the occasion assistant commissioner Irshad Ali Mohmand said that parents must play their due role and properly and timely vaccinate their children with polio drops and other compulsory vaccinations against the lethal diseases. He said most of the time persons lost body parts due to ignorance and lack of timely vaccinations. He said a special person not being considered a burden for him or her self but for all in his family and people around them.
Irshad Ali Mohmand thanked the health staff and PIPSO for the artificial limbs provided to deserving people.He said those got their artifical limbs could work and walk properly to earn their livelihood for their families.He said around 50 persons had applied for artificial limbs and most of them had got their required limb before.
Additional assistant commissioner Ramiz Ali Shah, district health officer doctor Zafar Ali Khan,doctor Sher Zaman Khan and others also spoke on the occasion. Those received the artificial limbs thanked the officials.
