SRBC to irrigate 11872 acres of land: Minister

Provincial Minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub Khan on Wednesday visited Siran Right Bank Canal Mansehra where he reviewed the quality and pace of development work on the project.
On the occasion he said with completion of Rs 2.8 billion Siran Right Bank Canal project a new era of progress and green revolution would take place in the area. The Minister informed that around 11872 acres of land would be irrigated through the project.
The Irrigation Department, he said, has initiated record projects for construction of small dams and canals through which abundant lands of the province are being brought under cultivation.
On the occasion, Project Director Siran Right Bank Canal Mansehra, XEn and officials concerned of the Irrigation Department were present. During the briefing, the Provincial Minister for Irrigation was informed in detail about the ongoing work on the project, its utility, importance and the problems being faced during execution of the project.
The meeting was told that the project will complete in five years’ time and discharge of water from the project would be 85 cusecs.
The Irrigation Minister Arshad Ayub Khan directed for quality construction work and completion of the project well in time.
