PESHAWAR
The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inaugurated the State of the Art School of Technology in Shalman District, Khyber to provide training in the field of science and information technology to the tribal youth.
The inauguration ceremony held here on Monday which was attended by Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Shafiq Sher Afridi, Secretary Science and Information Technology Muhammad Khalid, Director General of Science and Information Technology and all the relevant authorities along with students participated in large numbers.
Addressing the ceremony, MPA Shafiq Sher Afridi said that there was immense potential in the youth of the merged districts in the field of IT, adding that the provincial government was providing all kinds of facilities and opportunities to them by utilizing all the available resources.
He said that the youth of not only the merged districts but also the youth of the neighboring districts will benefit from the Shulman School of Technology.
Secretary Science and Information Technology Khalid Khan said that along with the production capacity of minerals and agriculture in the tribal districts, the youth also have unparalleled abilities.
“The provincial government has started major projects for the youth of the merged districts in the field of science and information technology,” he said, adding the youth to go ahead and get trained in science and technology projects and become self-employed, to develop technology based skills by providing short, medium and long term courses to the youth in the School of Technology.
Director General Science and Information Technology Sajid Hussain said that in the first phase, 200 youths of the merged districts will be given various courses such as Design Thinking, Professional Communication, Digital Citizenship, Leadership, Innovation Thinking and Science.
“The School of Technology is a gift for the youth of the adjoining districts which aims to train the youth in modern science and technology to make them skilled because today is the era of development in science and information technology, economic development is due to the development of science and information technology,” he added.
He said that making the youth skilled in science and information technology will not only give them employment but also improve the economic condition of the province.
