Steps afoot to make service delivery more efficient, accountable: Qasim

A two-day consultative workshop was held in Peshawar under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Social Welfare to review the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Minister for Social Welfare Syed Qasim Ali Shah attended the workshop as the chief guest.
The workshop was attended by Darul Aman managers, relevant district officers, representatives from the Directorate, and other key stakeholders. Participants critically reviewed the existing SOPs, identified current shortcomings, and presented actionable suggestions to enhance their effectiveness.
Addressing the workshop, Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah stated that effective and integrated SOPs are the backbone of improving the performance of social welfare institutions.
He said the recommendations from the workshop will be incorporated into the final draft and, following a validation workshop, the SOPs will be formally submitted for approval under the relevant protocol.
The aim of the workshop was to develop an updated operational framework that not only ensures more effective service delivery but also makes it more accountable to the public.
The Minister appreciated the active participation of attendees and reiterated the department’s commitment to reforms and quality enhancement.
