A large number of students, led by former MPA Nigat Orakzai, staged a protest outside the provincial assembly building, condemning the recent alleged rape incidents in Lahore and Swabi. The demonstrators demanded swift and severe punishment for the culprits to prevent such heinous crimes in the future. Holding banners and placards, the protesters called for immediate and transparent action from the government and judiciary to ensure justice for the victims. “The rape of young girls is not only devastating for the families but also a source of shame for the entire nation,” said Orakzai. She emphasized the need for urgent reforms in the judicial system to expedite cases of sexual violence and ensure that the perpetrators face the full force of the law. “We need strict and immediate enforcement of legislation to protect girls in our society,” Orakzai stressed. She also called for more effective policing and judicial processes across the country to prevent criminals from escaping justice in rape and sexual assault cases.
