A joint technical team of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department and the Communication & Works Department on Friday conducted a survey of the proposed site at DHQ Hospital Buner for the establishment of a Modern Safe Blood Transfusion Centre.
The survey was carried out on the directives of KP Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Syed Fakhar Jehan, officials said in a handout issued here.
According to the statement, the project has been included in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026-27 under Scheme Code 260104. The objective of the survey was to assess the technical feasibility of the site and finalise construction requirements to enable early commencement of work.
Representatives of the Project Management Unit of the Safe Blood Transfusion Project inspected the proposed location. The C&W Department was directed to prepare a detailed cost estimate on a priority basis and submit it to the competent forum for approval.
Those who attended the survey included representatives of relevant government departments, Syed Dia-ul-Mulk, and Bakhrad Khan, Focal Person to PTI Chairman and MNA Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
Officials said that upon completion, the centre would provide safe and timely blood transfusion services to the people of Buner and adjoining areas, strengthen emergency healthcare services, and enhance the capacity of the district’s healthcare system.
It added that the project reflects the provincial government’s commitment to improving public health infrastructure and ensuring access to quality healthcare facilities for the people.
