A student of fifth grade of a private school was beaten to death by the Principal of the school here in Sur Kamar, Bughyari area of Jamrud, district Khyber on Friday.
Confirming the incident at the police station, Jamrud official said that the school’s Principal Waqar Ahmad brutally subjected the student, Ittehad Khan son of Khyalmat Khan to baton charge in morning assembly over a pretty matter and injured him seriously.
Immediately after viral the news on the social media, District Police Officer, Khyber Rai Mazahar Iqbal took serious notice of the happen and directed the Station House Officer (SHO)Jamrud for necessary action.
The wounded learner was shifted to Jamrud hospital but succumbed to his injuries, police said.
SHO, Jamrud Naseem Khan along with a police party apprehended the allegedly culprit teacher and lodged First Information Report (FIR) against him, official said.
DPO in his harsh reaction said that torturing and beating of children and women would be tolerated and no one would be permitted to utilize the holy professional of teaching and torture the learner to death.
We will make the incident an example for others so that no one will dare to tyrannize children in the name of education, he added.
The mishap saddened the whole area and parents demanded the concerned authority to ensure imposition of law word and spirit, banning corporal punishment to students in educational institutions.
It is worth mentioning here that the deceased student was an orphan.
