DERA ISMAIL KHAN: In a bid to restore dignity and respect of teachers in society, Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division, Zafar ul Salam Khattak has directed all the government offices to accord due regard to teachers. In this regard, the commissioner has sent a letter to deputy commissioners of Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, South Waziristan Upper and South Waziristan Lower urging emphasizing the dignity and respect of teachers in their respective districts to welcome teachers with utmost respect. “Keeping in view the importance of teachers in the whole fabric of the society, I urge that all teachers be received with the utmost deference and accord due respect and regard in all public and civil administration offices in Dera Ismail Khan division,” the letter reads. He said that the role of teachers extended beyond the four walls of the school and they played a crucial role in shaping a better society; hence, a compassionate approach should be adopted towards teachers entering government offices. He opined this tradition would enhance the level of recognition and courtesy towards the builders of the nation in our service delivery and extend them preferential treatment. APP
