As the nation prepares to celebrate Eid ul Fitr, meteorologists Saturday issued a weather advisory warning of a significant rise in temperatures, predicting scorching heat and sunny conditions across the country, including major cities like Karachi.
Renowned Meteorologist Anjum Nazir Zaigham shared his expert insights on the country’s weather forecast in an exclusive conversation with a private news channel.
Highlighting the typical weather patterns experienced during this time of the year, Zaigham noted that as the month of March moves ahead, the mercury is expected to rise further in the coming days, a trend consistent with previous years.
This upward trajectory in temperatures will likely bring scorching heat and sunny conditions, making the weather increasingly warmer and more uncomfortable.
Zaigham’s forecast serves as a timely reminder for citizens to take necessary precautions and stay prepared for the impending heatwave.
Responding to a query, Meteorologist Anjum Nazir Zaigham revealed that the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted a significant surge in temperatures.
According to the PMD’s predictions, the mercury is expected to soar to a scorching high of 37°C to 38°C, signaling the onset of an intense heatwave in the region.
Shifting his focus to the upcoming Eid celebrations, Meteorologist Anjum Nazir cautioned that Karachi is expected to experience extremely hot and dry weather, making the festive period even more challenging for residents.
However, he added that some cities in the country may witness light rainfall on Eid, but this will not provide much respite from the sweltering heat.
Overall, Pakistanis can expect a hot and sunny Eid-ul-Fitr, with temperatures remaining high across the country, he added.
