Despite the claim and action of district administration, the majority of the nanbais are violating the government orders and selling roti at their own choice rate in the hometown of the provincial minister food Zahir Shah Toru.
It may be noted that the provincial government has fixed the price of 100 grams of bread at Rs 15 and 200 grams of bread at Rs 30 to give relief to the masses.
The nanbais of the district put the government price list on the tip of their shoes. The nanbais made the sale of half-weight bread made of non-standard flour at 20 to 30 as normal.
The district administration’s checking is limited only to hotels and bazaar tandoors, while hundreds of nanbais in densely populated areas, streets and in rural areas have made it a routine to defy the provincial price list and sell bread at a price of their choice instead of the official weight and price.
The nanbais said that the provincial government has only decreased the rate of flour. They added that they are paying high bills of Suigas and electricity.
Majority of the people of Mardan in this connection has started campaign on social media. Aqila Sumbal president women chamber shared a post on different WhatsApp groups. She stated that on Shamsi road and Chato chowk the bread is selling at its old price.
The masses criticized the provincial government and said that the government has announced and fixed the price of bread but the poor people are deprived from this relief.
The masses of Mardan demanded the provincial minister for food Zahir Shah Toru who belongs to Mardan to take strict action against the nanbais throughout the district especially densely populated areas, streets and rural areas and start checking on a daily basis and provide relief to masses.
