Police Station Shaheed Gulfat Hussain on Monday claimed to have arrested three suspects who belong to a notorious gang in the provincial capital.
The arrests were made during an operation led by ASP Aitzaz Arif under the supervision of SP City Abdul Salam Khalid.
SHO of the abovementioned Rizwan Barki was also part of the operation, which resulted in the recovery of Rs1.1 million cash. Police said that the arrested persons have been identified as Sajjad, Shehryar and Ismail, residents of different areas of Peshawar.
The arrested persons were allegedly involved in looting a businessman from Lahore on Malik Saad Flyover last month, said SHO Rizwan Barki.
He said the gang was busted and its three members were apprehended after a comprehensive investigation on modern scientific lines.
The arrested suspects have admitted to their involvement in looting Lahore businessmen in Peshawar and robberies during an initial investigation, said police.
During the investigation, the accused have also identified other members of the group.
A special team has been formed under the leadership of ASP Aitraz Arif for their arrest.
